COVID-19, Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan
The Art in Motion Dance COVID-19 safety plan is based on the Department of Labor and Department of Health and Human Services guidance on preparing workplaces for COVID-19. This plan describes basic steps that will reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 to our students, student families, instructors, and County employees.
- Infection Prevention – Protection depends on emphasizing basic infection prevention measures. Art in Motion employees will practice and promote good hygiene and infection control by:
- Practicing and promoting frequent and thorough hand washing
- Staying home if they are sick
- Practicing and encouraging respiratory etiquette, including covering coughs and sneezes.
- Providing students with tissue
- Discouraging the use of other peoples’ phones, desks, offices, or other work tools and equipment, when possible
- Maintaining regular housekeeping practices in dance studios including routine cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces, equipment, and other elements of the dance environment
- Flexible Workplace Policies – Infectious disease outbreaks increase workers’ concerns about pay, leave, safety, health. Our employees are encouraged to make attendance decisions based on the health and safety of themselves and our students and not the fear of job loss. Employees will not lose their job due to an illness related absence and are encouraged to:
- Stay at home if sick
- Stay home to care for a sick family member
- Maintaining a Safe Studio – Art in Motion Dance instructors will work with our customers to establish and maintain a safe dance facility by:
- Evaluating studio space and capacity based on distancing guidelines to determine capacity to ensure guests can properly physically distance themselves
- Scheduling classes so that there is time to adequately clean between class
- Performing routine and frequent environmental cleaning and disinfecting, especially high-touch surfaces
- Cleaning and disinfecting the studio in accordance with CDC and facility guidelines
- Social Distancing – Physical distancing in indoor and outdoor spaces is an essential way to slow down the spread of COVID-19. Art in Motion Dance will:
- Encourage employees to maintain social distancing, including during breaks, and modify procedures to avoid staff congregation
- Implement social distancing practices for all indoor and outdoor classes
- Train employees on the proper responses to students who challenge social distancing, facial covering, and other protocols
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Face coverings are required for all instructors, students, parents or guardians, and participants, including children older than 5 years of age, when indoors
- When outdoors, face coverings are required if unable to consistently maintain at least six feet of distance from other individuals and are advisable under all conditions
- Customers with disabilities who are unable to wear a face covering must be provided with an opportunity to receive the same goods and services as customers without disabilities
